What is AI traffic analytics?

AI traffic analytics measures visits that reach your site from AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot. Ansvisor also shows what those visitors did next, like engagement and key events, and which AI answer cited the page they landed on.

How do I track and analyze AI traffic?

Add the Ansvisor tracking snippet or connect Google Analytics. Ansvisor groups AI referrals by platform and landing page, then lines them up with the prompts and citations you already track.

How does AI traffic show up in GA4?

Most of it lands under Referral, mixed in with other websites, unless you build a custom channel with a regex filter. Ansvisor reads your GA4 data, sorts the AI sources for you and keeps the key events attached.

Can I see traffic from Google AI Overviews?

Clicks from AI Overviews are counted as Google organic, so no tool can split them out exactly. Ansvisor watches Search Console for pages where impressions rise while CTR falls, which often means an AI Overview is answering in place of the click.

Which AI platforms does Ansvisor detect?

Ansvisor detects visits from AI assistants that pass a referrer, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude and DeepSeek. Each one gets its own row with visits, engagement and key events.

What is the difference between AI referral traffic and AI bot traffic?

Referral traffic is people clicking a link in an AI answer. Bot traffic is crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot reading your pages. Ansvisor reports the two separately.

Do I need Cloudflare or Vercel?

Only for the AI bots view, which is available on Growth and above. AI referral traffic, GA4 and Search Console data work without them.

Why is a page cited in AI answers but not clicked?

Usually the answer already gave the reader what they needed. The "Cited, not clicked" tab lists these pages so you can give people a reason to visit, such as a tool, a template or original data.

Can I see which AI answers lead to signups?

Yes, once key events are set up in GA4. Ansvisor ranks pages by the key events AI visitors complete and shows the topics of the tracked prompts whose answers cite those pages.

Is Ansvisor open source, and can I try it?

Yes. Ansvisor is open source under the MIT license. You can self-host it, or use the cloud version with a 14-day free trial.
